Graduate School Bound

Steve was part of a job layoff in February.  Instead of jumping into another job he didn't like, his parents encouraged him to take his time and figure out exactly what he wanted to do.  He had his eye on the various Sport's Management Master's programs in the area.
SMU is starting it's inaugural class this fall  Baylor has a program that's been around for several years.  One required the GMAT and another required the GRE.  Both had deadlines in early March.  There was no time to waste.  With the support of his parents, Steve dove head first into studying.
By early April, Steve received his acceptance letter to Baylor University.  We were thrilled!  Baylor is a great option for us.  Obviously the distance would be an issue.  So, if he chose to go to Baylor then he would live down in Waco with my mom during the week.
By mid-April, Steve received a letter from SMU.  Just so stinkin' proud of Stevan! Now he had a choice.  Both are awesome schools.  The idea of getting to be a part of the first class in SMU's Sport's Management is just too good to pass up!
Come Fall 2013 we will have an SMU Mustang in the house!

Wicked

What better way to celebrate a girlfriend's birthday than to go see Wicked at Fair Park!?  This is my favorite musical for lots of reason- the music, the message, the clever storyline, the comedic parts, the heart-tugging moments... it's pure genius.  It's even more fun to see this production with people who've never seen it before.  Lori and I are Wicked experts.  Beverly and Gretchen had never seen it.  The four of us had a wonderful evening with Glinda and Elphaba!  So glad Bev had a birthday so we had an excuse to see it!

LISD Swim Prep Program

Caleb swims for LISD during the school year.  Coach Tom is the Lewisville HS coach and is Caleb's coach in this swim prep program.  Too bad Caleb will eventually be going to Marcus HS.  The program is great because attendance is up the families.  You can come as much or as little as you want.  Then a few times a year they have small swim meets.  We have been carpooling with the Woods and Engberson families which makes it much easier on all of us.   Right now Caleb's enjoys back stroke, butterfly, and free style.  He really isn't a fan of breast stroke (but neither was his daddy!)

Master Bedroom Redo

I've been wanting to redo our master bedroom for some time.  Just been tired of the green.  I knew I wanted to go gray or blue.  Vicki and I found the perfect fabric after searching for a few days.  From there I chose the paint color and started painting.  Steve is much faster at painting, so he took over the bedroom paint while I focused on the bathroom.  Vicki found the perfect bedding online and sewed everything else.  It all came together beautifully.
